i ask

i ask the wind to carry my laughter across the plains and through the forest holds, where i once grew in my youth.
i ask the earth to embrace me, and this time, i shall embrace it as well, as long as once i am no longer flesh and bone new life may rise from what i once was. may the trees and flowers grow from me.
i ask water to wash me away from their thoughts of grief and sorrow. i shall not deny them such emotions, but i wish to float down the river for one last time, my hair strewn like a crown around me
i ask the storms to call me their own, as i wished. i shared my eyes with them. each was my brother, my sister, my sibling, full of everything but so much more
i ask clouds to keep being shifters moving across the sky. may they be horses, dragons, swords, flowers, or a dog, they roused my creativity as i gazed upon them above me
i ask the mountains to remain as beautiful as they were in my eyes. such gods of earth they are, inspiring such might and admiration within me. i stood steadfast, but i am not a god such as they
i ask the rain to fall on me one last time. no goosebumps may rise on my skin this time, but i shall feel free and within i shall dance and weep with joy once again. fall on me and send me to my freedom.
